For anyone needing to operate MEWPS (Mobil Elevating Work Platforms) in a safe and effective manner using 3a (mobile vertical) and / or 3b (mobile boom) categories. The course consists of a theory session and practical session. The full course can be simply sat with one of our instructors at our training facility. Categories can be sat individually or together.

Course Content

Legislation & Regulations: PUWER, LOLER, HASAWA, Working at Height Regulations
MEWP Categories: Understanding 3a (scissor lifts, vertical lifts) and 3b (cherry pickers, boom lifts)
Pre-Use Inspections: Carrying out safety checks and reporting defects
Safe Operating Practices: Correct positioning, safe travelling, setting up in different environments
Hazard Awareness: Recognising and avoiding risks such as overhead obstructions, ground conditions, and weather factors
Emergency Procedures: Safe use of ground controls and rescue plans
Practical Operation: Hands-on training under supervision to demonstrate competence
