This one-day combined course is designed for anyone who needs to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely and effectively while also gaining the essential knowledge and skills to correctly use harnesses and lanyards.

Course Structure

Day Before the Course:
Candidates must complete the IPAF Harness Awareness (HA) online course. This provides an understanding of legal responsibilities, correct harness and lanyard fitting, and essential pre-use checks.

Training Day (Onsite):

IPAF Operator Training
Covers safe operation of MEWPs in categories 3a (Mobile Vertical) and/or 3b (Mobile Boom). Training includes a classroom theory session and practical instruction, followed by assessment. Theory can be completed in person with our instructor or online prior to the practical.

IPAF Harness User (HU)
Builds on the Harness Awareness knowledge with practical training in the safe use of harnesses and lanyards when operating MEWPs.
